so this was iggie's first trip on the cable car in HK ... i must say its really new and clean and L-O-N-G ride .... and in the cool weather it was perfect!!!

attack of the CRAB!!!!!

its Big Claw CRAB session now ... and almost all the markets you can find them all tied up in neat bundles, ready to be sold, washed, cooked and eaten .....

no.... this is not a entry about Big Claw Crab .... its another type of crab .... the self proclaimed type ....


anders is really cheeky today .... ....while preparing to take a family picture, anders decided that it was "automatic" that he must be in the picture too ... and insisted that we all include him in ... so maybe that is a sign to me... if i want 3 kids... this is what we all will most prob be looking at 3 years down the road .... then again .. i think not ... if this is a sign that all 3 kids are going to be boys ... ahahhahahahahahahah i must be on drugs to have 3 boys!!!!!

san bo & family @ stanley market

san bo & family came to hong kong for a short holiday ... and after doing some damage to the credit card at tai koo shing (damaged by mango, berkinstock, joy&peace, bodyshop ... and all in under 1 hour!!!), we all went to stanley for some sumptous lunch.... and it was great!!!

this little Pizza Express had the yummiest wild mushroom soup i have ever tasted .... and the desserts were simply gorgeous!!! the weather i think played a bit part in the whole experience ... it was cool and not cold ...and with all the hot food going in to warm our tummies ... we couldnt have found another way to spend a lovely sat afternoon ...
look of contentment ... maybe bordering on the verge of over-eating ... !!! we ate from 2.30pm til 5pm!!!! still couldnt figure out if that was lunch or tea or dinner or .... well, it was delicious!!

its amazing how time flies ... grandma came on the 7th Dec ... and was here to play with the boys .. and before we knew it .. it was time for grandma to go home ... iggie was so upset about it ....

and kept asking me to buy him a ticket to fly with grandma ... and when i told him there were no seats and no tickets left, he asked me to go ask the auntie for an extra ticket.... or alternatively, he can go to the second level (like a double deck bus) .....



well ... maybe next time darling ... your daddy cant bear to see you go back to singapore with grandma .. not after he has waited for so long for us to be here!!! .. :P

our little iggie went to the florist and bought these 2 lovely flowers for us ... and gave them to us with a big fat kiss!!!!

this is how you eat cherries ...

step 1 : be seated comfortably... get ready a napkin... and hold on to 1 red cherry



step 2: position lips as shown in diagram 2 and ensure direct eye contact with cherry in hand.

Step 3: bring hand towards mouth and squash your teeth into the fruit. ensure all juices are splattered in 360 degrees...

dont u feel like grabbing a few cherries to try this process out now??? :P

Bruises? NOoooOoooo - Iggie...all 4 years old

In case you were wondering...those were not bruises around Iggie's mouth under the "What Have I Done?" posting. It's playful (and happy) Iggie making a mess after eating a bowl of cherries. Really...it is the most wonderful sight you can ask for. Or is it...all...???

Well, Iggie DID it! He kept his promise that he will walk into the class without weeping...he will just wave BYE BYE! How proud I am:)

It was not the easiest on Iggie's part...I must say. He woke up really early this morning; when I woke up at 7.15am, he was already all ready, except for wearing his shoes. On the bus ride, it was pretty crowded and rough...but he was still fine.

But once we alight, I can feel his little hands telling me..."Uh oh...I made a promise to Dad". Hesitant stride followed...(okie he asked for CARRY, and how can I not obliged???).

Being really early may not always be good, as the school only accepts children at 8.25am. So that means lots of THINKING time for our little boy, who certainly loves to think a lot. The day was saved when the first school bus arrived some 5-10 mins earlier I reckon. A few more nervous minutes passed, and I popped the question...SHALL WE GO UPSTAIRS NOW?

Reluctantly, he followed. 1st floor....2nd floor.....third floor....classroom....(each flight of stairs registered a different scene for the last one month between Daddy and Iggie). At the door to Sealion classroom, with a pensive and slightly cracking voice, accompanied by a frown across his face, he let out his...."Daaaad...diie". "..........Yes......., Iggie...", I replied.

Shaking his head at a slightly tilted angle, still holding very much THE look, he waved me goodbye, and moved on...

Tell me...Is this parenthood, or is this parenthood?

My Hobby - Eat and Play!!!

This is really not a joke. Nick loves to eat and play. Yes, you can't do very much else at this age, but his displays of his strong interest with food, and yearning to upset peace and harmony (yes his idea of play) are very much for us to see.

Whenever food's around, you can really see his immediate SWITCH in his attention. And when he gets to taste it...dun even think of stopping him...The score always reads...Nicholas 1: Mummy 0.

Now comes the PLAY. Playing with toys do not feature too highly in his agenda. Dismantling GeGe's painstakingly assembled elaborate train tracks probably is high up there. Otherwise, it is playing a game of "bluff"....pretending to give you his toy in his hand, when he really does not obviously have that intent...other than to trick you...Nicholas 1: You 0.

We love Nicholas...

What Have I Done???

This week did not start off too well...with Sharon falling ill first, then Nick, then Iggie...Actually I did not think much initially. It kinda started (last weekend) when Nick was not passing motion too smoothly. So brilliant me thought I would grind some prune and mix them (2 x pitted prunes) with warm water - walla prune sauce. Nick loved it! Then for the whole day, he kept munching on stuff....result: He prob went like....4 times??? I mean each time you could see which meal/fruits it was!

Fast forward...Wed...it had been a terrible three mornings in a roll sending Iggie to school. What success we achieved last week came to nought...He started crying before he entered the classroom. It made me really mad (with myself) when I had to walk away from a weeping boy...And that day got worse, when I heard that Iggie had threw up in school. That immediately meant - more weight to be lost in the coming days *sigh*.

After having rested two days at home, Iggie still was having problem ingesting food. So came Saturday, I decided to stay at home with Iggie. We had a great deal of fun...playing with his Thomas tracks, rebuilding the Lego truck, watching Charlotte's Web, and going to the arcade. It was really Daddy and Son time.

So end of the day....here's my happy boy again... Let's see what about tomorrow *fingers firmly crossed*...

nick nick's CAN DO list ...

now i know i had started a short list of nick nick YES list ....

so maybe here's a couple more to add over the past couple of months ...

(1) nick can point to no 1 when u ask him where's no 1
(2) nick can open a lipstick and dig out all the lipstick from the tube ... (already damaged mine and also grandma's!)
(3) nick can pull himself up to a standing position and lower himself back to sit on his bum
(4) nick can aim quite accurately with his finger into your nostrils .... ha! watch out when u carry him!
(5) nick can say Papa .. though no sure if it was to mean Daddy ....
(6) nick can "demand" for food and snacks ... like bread when others are eating
(7) nick can blow lots of saliva and bubbles from his mouth ... til his whole face is covered and wet ....
(8) nick can laugh out loud at iggie's tickles and playful tease ...
(9) nick can crawl at a speed of 10km/hour.... (ha ... i think so watching him zoom across the room and go straight for things out of bounds ....)
(10) nick loves to go for the toilet bowl and play with the water there ... to the horror of us!!!! so now the toilet door is always closed ....
(11) nick loves to play with iggie's toys .... and often ignore his own toys .... sigh .... wasted all our money for the new toys for nick ...
(12) nick loves to destroy the tracks built by iggie ... to the horror of iggie ....
(13) nick loves to remove all the childproof gadgets we have in the house .... literally aim for them and throw them away .... (like the rubber corners that we fix to tables and ledge)
(14) nick loves to go out of the house and go "jalan jalan" .... hates to be home bound .... cries and scream whenever someone leaves the house .... without him!
(15) nick can fight with iggie ... literally hold on tight to the same toy ... and with great strength give a loud "errrr!!" to warn iggie .....
(16) nick can put the circle blocks into the circle holes .... so far his fav are the circles ... the rest are too tough!!!
(17) nick can watch TV programs!!!! .. yes i really mean watch a program .... he will sit there and his eyes will be on the TV screen and full concentration on what's playing ... and at appropriate times he will give a "err!" to tell you he knows what's coming up next!!! so far his fav are ABCs and DORA ... to the horror of us .... !!! he has no inclination towards the younger baby shows .... but can watch those that iggie watches!!!!
(18) nick can flip through the animal book and point out some of the more verocious animals to you ... like panther, crocodile .. lion ... dog is so far his fav!!! .. and i wonder if its because that was the year he was born!
(19) nick can suddenly go "wah woh!!" ... to tell you there is something happening ... and he wants you to see, help or carry him!!
(20) nick loves to play hide and seek .... and screams with delight and gets all excited about it ....
(21) nick loves to play "round the garden like a teddy bear" .... and he squeels with delight before we even get to 1 step, 2 step ... tickle under there ....
(22) nick can cry REALLY loud whenever someone speaks sternly to him .... and scream out for long periods to show how "wei qiu" he was ...
(23) nick can pinch you really hard ... his little fingers grab so little of your flesh .. thus it really HURTS ....
(24) nick can tell you when he is full... he swaps off the bottle if its milk ... or simply starts to blow out food if its porridge .....
(25) nick doesnt like medicine ... and will spits / blow out all the medicine that you can try to insert into his mouth ... and more often than not, you will get 90% of the medicine on your face and clothes .... and maybe 5% on the floor ... and 3% on his clothes ... and 2% in his mouth
(26) nick can turn the bottle cap back on .... but havent learnt how to unscrew to open....
(27) nick can do the 3 unthinkable ..... step 1 - cry really loud and scream really loud with big droplets of tears down the cheeks.... (if that fails) step 2 - sit and continue step 1 plus wild kicking of legs .... (if that fails) step 3 - lay down on tummy and continue step 2 plus wild kicking of legs and arms .. almost to the point of banging head on floor! .... i cant understand where did he learn that from .....

We Did It!

How proud I am of Iggie and Nick...Iggie walked the whole two hour trail...and Nick sat through the two hour bumpy push-chair ride. Easy trail??? My dearest wife must be feeling a little cheated, since I had told her that it was to be a FLAT trail...I really didn't know it is so high and steep...:p
