pink cheeks and red lips!!!

okay - its not makeup dun worry!!!!!

i brought iggie to Snow City on sunday to let him experience some real "cold" and "snow" .....

actually the day before that we went in just to check it out how it is like and what attire we should be dressed in. so on sunday i packed a sweater and got him into his favourite jeans overalls and off we went to have some fun.

i knew it would be cold - since they have "snow" ... but i never expected it to be SOOOOOOO cold ..... they mentioned that they will provide snow boots and ski jackets and we can rent their snow gloves... so i figured that is good ... not bad.. should be quite okay. so i got iggie dressed first, making sure the gloves and jacket fit him well and he was covered all over except his face. but by the time i wanted to choose a jacket, all the good ones were already taken by the "regulars" there who knew what to pick first and i was left with this jacket that didnt close properly and head cover that wouldnt cover properly .... but i thought it should be alright and we went into the "arrival gate" happily.

iggie was all excited and seeing that everyone around him was also dressed up in the same gear and standing there - he couldnt wait for the gate to open up. but his little hands were a little "lost" in the mittens and he was worried i wouldnt be able to hold his hand properly - but i did.

once the gate opened and we went in - the real cold hit me!! my goodness!! it was cold!!!! i got him to wear a helmet (required for all under 12 years) and we went up the steps to do the slide.... and my oh my - that was STEEP and FAST!!!! and very very cold - my ears were frozen as my head cover couldnt stay put and my nose had no feeling!!!

it didnt really look that steep and i didnt expect the slide down to be that fast but zoooommmmm...... we went down each of us sitting on a tube (tyre) and me holding onto iggie's arms tightly.... i dun really know if he was scared but i was scared!!!! in fact i think i must be the only one screaming a little going down the slide!!!

we did that slide for three times and he didnt want to do it anymore - not sure if it was too scary or he got bored or he was too cold .... but i brought him to the side where they had a little playground (just like the normal playground slide in the parks) and he got really excited there!!!

he was sliding down the slides and laughing and just having a good time!! i asked if he wanted to do the big slide but he just wanted to play on the playground slide.. so we spend the next 40mins just doing the playground slide ....

iggie had the rosy cheeks and the happiest face - he looks absolutely adorable!!!! dont have a picture of us inside (not cameras allowed) but i took a picture of us after the event .... so there is he with flushed rosy cheeks and red lips - looking very very sweet!!!!

just before they closed the big slide, i asked him if he wanted to go on it for the last time and yes we went down again and this time both of us screamed a little!!

after that he asked "are they going to close the small slide too?" and i told him "soon iggie, but you can still play for a while more".... and off he went up and down the slide again and again and again and again .... and still laughing and having a real good time!!

in fact he kept going and going til we were the last two people left and the guy had to stand beside me to "signal" that time was up!!! i told iggie to go on the slide for the last time as uncle was closing the place and sadly he waved bye bye to the slide and snow.....

after the wonderful time in snow city, he asked when can we go again ... and i told him next week he can come with dad dad ..... and he got really excited .....

once we got into the car, the million dollar question came "is it still morning mummy?" and i laughed and told him it had just turned 2pm in the afternoon and we had done our botanic garden walk and fed the fishes & turtles and ate breakfast and played with thomas the train and came to snow city - we accomplished alot for just a morning (which started at 6.30am!!)....... and he said "i want to play the whole day, i dun wan to take nap and i will sleep early tonight".....

and i insisted that he must take a nap and he refused and said "no, i dun wan to nap and i promise to sleep early tonight"..... 5 mins after he made that statement, with my rear-view mirror, i saw a little boy with his eyes closed, apple juice in his left hand and right hand holding the balloon from snow city ..... sigh ... the one who refuses to sleep for fear of losing play time ........ my little precious angel - iggie is fast asleep in his car seat with flushed rosy cheeks and red lips ......
